Our silk carré scarves are produced in South Korea where our producers utilise their years of knowledge of high end silk production, whilst also embracing new technologies such as laser cutting. We were inspired by the flowing mesh structure found within Gibson’s sculpture and rendered this into a cutout design using irregular triangles to create a similar dynamic.
Silk was developed in ancient China over 5000 years ago, and was usually reserved for royalty. To preserve the luxurious quality, today our silk is woven in China by a family company that has produced high quality silk for generations, and have perfected the lustrous, soft texture and shine. Silk is known for being lightweight whilst also being strong and durable, especially when woven in a twill weave. We chose silk and silk twill to add a featherweight dimension to the Fall / Winter 2016 collection.
